Abstract Submission

Prospective authors should submit their abstracts by electronic mail, preferably in Word Document. Abstracts in a plain text form is also acceptable, but the final submission of paper manuscripts must be a camera ready form written according to the requirements of PHYSIC C, Elsevier Science Publishers.
Please limit abstracts to 200 words, and indicate your sorting code on the upper right corner according to the codes enclosed in parentheses in theTopics section. The name of the presenter should be underlined. A mailing address, e-mail address, phone, and FAX number of the corresponding author should be included near the bottom of each abstract.

Authors are encouraged to post their work before or after the oral presentation in order to discuss it with colleagues. A poster room is available. Please indicate your preference regarding both oral and poster presentations or either of them on the upper left corner. See the sample abstract(in PDF File or Word Document ) for more details.

Contributing authors will be notified about whether their abstract has been accepted between November 1 - December 1,2000, via e-mail, depending on the date of submission. An invited presenter will of course not receive a notice of this kind. In case that the submission is declined, a full amount will be refunded without service fee charge. Please take the advantage of the advance registration by November 1, 2000.

Whenever possible, all correspondence will be conducted by e-mail.

Manuscript Preparation and Submission

Each presenter should submit three copies of the manuscript for onset peer refereeing. Usually, minor or serious revisions are needed. Therefore, camera ready figures are not required, but they are still helpful for the onset refereeing. Papers up to three (3) pages in length will be published for free; though longer papers are also acceptable, a fee of $50/page must be charged. However, due to the limitation of the total page number of the proceedings, it is not allowed that any paper is longer than six (6) pages without an approval of the publication committee. This three page limit applies to everyone: invited as well as contributed, oral and poster papers.

Manuscripts are required to be prepared strictly according to the requirements of Elsevier Science Publishers as shown in How To Prepare a Manuscript for Elsevier Proceedings. You may request a text file by sending a message to the secretariat of New3SC. How to estimate the page number of your manuscript is also given in the information of "How To ...." Carefully read it. It can help you efficiently use space. A camera ready manuscript is not required for proceedings papers, but a sample paper may help you plan the length of your paper. An example file in the PHYSIC C style is available at http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/physc. Two copies with one original manuscript and an electronic file of each paper saved on a floppy diskette are needed for the final submission after the conference and must be received by March 15, 2001Note that the three (3) copies of a manuscript submitted at the conference are for refereeing purposes only; either a revised manuscript or a publish-as-is paper still needs to be re-submitted by the cutoff date of March 15, 2001.
