COLLABORATIONS

Alternative Fuels Research Group is a non-profit organizaton dedicated to pure research in hazardous waste management, hazardous ground water management, air quality remediation, and alternatives in fuel production.


The Alternative Fuels Research Group fuel cell research is supported by the Department of Energy and the Office of Naval Research.

  The Alternative Fuels Research Group is an interdisciplinary collaboration developed on the Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana campus. The research is being performed by several researchers of various disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and Material Science.

Southern University's strategic industrial partner is W.L. GORE. GORE is the creator of  Gore-Tex, a water proof material used in numerous products. W. L. Gore and Associates, Inc. is a company  which  provides innovative solutions for demanding electronic, industrial, fabric and medical applications around  the world. With the assistance of GORE, and our new ly, custom designed fuel cell testing  facilitiy, the AFRG/FCRT is promising fuel cells with higher efficiencies than those currently available by other leading manufacturers in the fuel cell industry.
